Apparently Paris and Doug have called it quits. According to Perezhilton.com the two have headed for “Splitsville” and have decided to return to the cold side of their own pillows! This means I will definately be photographing Paris a lot more about the town.
Comments rssROSEVILLE, Calif. — A Sacramento County Sheriff’s sergeant will not be tried a second time in a drunken driving case, the Placer County District Attorney’s Office said.
In 2007, a Roseville Police Department officer stopped Christopher Dayton Guerrero on Douglas Boulevard near Harding Boulevard for a traffic violation. He then gave Guerrero a field sobriety test. Guerrero was not arrested but was given a ride home by a sober driver.
Although the district attorney’s office felt it had the evidence for a conviction, it couldn’t sway the 12 jurors, who were deadlocked 7-5 on a not guilty verdict, Supervising Deputy District Attorney Ted Peterson said.
A dashcam video played in court shows Guerrero telling the officer that he is a “cop.” He also tells the officer that he had about five beers that night.
“Let me ask you, are you going to arrest me? I hope not,” Guerrero said.
At one point during the traffic stop, the officer asked Guerrero if he “wants to take the test or not.”
“I would take care of you like a brother,” Guerrero said.
“You wouldn’t have to, because I wouldn’t be in this position,” the officer said.
Peterson said some jurors felt Guerrero should have been given an Intoxilyzer test at the scene.
“The jurors felt that this might have validated the results of the preliminary alcohol screening device in the field,” Peterson said in a statement.
After a supervisor arrives, the investigating officer explains just how intoxicated he thinks Guerrero is.
Off camera, Guerrero is heard apologizing over 40 times.
“But it appears that did not have a significant impact on the jurors,” Peterson said.
Sacramento County Sheriff John McGinness said Guerrero was not convicted of any crime and that he remains a valued member of the department.
