Ronaldo has been picked for Portugal’s two-legged World Cup play-off against Bosnia-Hercegovina but Real claim he is not fit because of an ankle injury.

“Cristiano Ronaldo will travel to Portugal in the next few hours,” read a statement on Real’s website.

“He will put himself at the disposal of the medical services of the Portuguese football federation.”
